Gianluca Cogoni won the
Tenerife International Music Festival with the P. Dukas piece
The
Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Gianluca beat off fierce
competition from participants from Germany, Spain, France, the US,
England, Panama, Japan, and Switzerland.
The international jury
consisting of Alain Giral, France, Ana Maria Ortega, Spain, Chiho Sunamoto,
England, Guadalupe Avila, Panama and Ignacio Ruvalcaba for the US, gave
the first prize in the "Senior Advance" category to the young Cagliari-born
musician. |

In joint second place were
the Chinese Guan Jian and the American Sagi Schwartzberg; in third place
the Swiss Marco Cerbella and the Spaniard Carmen Dguez Glez was fourth.
Daniela and Antonello
Mura from Italy were also members of the international jury but were, of
course, excluded from expressing an opinion about the Italian competitor.
At
the Festival, the Anglo-Japanese musician Chiho Sunamoto and the president
of the Associazione Cdmi Music School Daniela Mura stood in for invited
guests.
The
excellent organization of the festival was by the Tenerife Musicalex
School of Music directed by Juan Carlos Alexander under the aegis of the
Ayuntamiento de San Cristobal de la Laguna. |
